Karen & Manus got married on a crisp fresh day last November. This was my first wedding since having my little baby boy, and as a result, I was filled with a mix of crazy excitement and nervousness. I was mostly nervous that I would remember to say my name was “Vanessa” and not to chant “Mama mama mama” in a baby voice 🙂 As luck would have it, as soon as I swung that camera bag over my shoulder . . . I was back in the game . . .my mind was fixed on finding the light . . . watching the time . . . and observing every moment to ensure that I captured all the beauty of this day. Karen & Manus’ day was a day filled with deep down happiness from everyone there. You could tell that everyone was just delighted to celebrate Karen & Manus and their marriage. You see . . . it’s not even hard to photograph days like this, as there were pinterest worthy moments at every opportunity. The style . . . happy laughing faces . . . the cutest little kids . . . the amazing flowers . . . retro cars . . . and not to forget the beautiful venue of; Castle Leslie.
Karen & Manus have a beautiful quiet way with them, and it was such fun to document this very happy occasion for them. I love working with couples who aren’t used to being in front of the camera. What they don’t know . . . is . . . that it makes the moments all the more real when I photograph them. As a result, the photographs are jam packed with genuine emotion, and the camera (and me) absolutely loves that! Come on to you see the happy, smiling faces of these lovely folks. Enjoy x
