One of the best things about this job, is meeting new people, and meeting little Alicia . . . well that was a real treat! This little bundle of cuteness was so eager to meet her Mammy & Daddy that she decided to come early. Quite a bit early in fact! You wouldn’t know it to look at this little lady, but she has worked very hard in the first few months of her life. A real fighter! The term “fighter” conjures up images in my mind of; strong fists, bulging muscles and an aggressive manner, but Alicia has none of these characteristics. She has delicate hands and a soft little voice, and yet she is a fighter in the truest sense of the world.
After leaving the photoshoot with this lady, I wasn’t thinking about; “Oh, I think the cream hat worked well this time” . . . or “I liked the natural light in the room”. No. I hadn’t very many thoughts at all in fact . . . I was a little quiet . . . but I was overcome with joy. Joy? Isn’t that a bit deep? Maybe so, but Jennifer & Joey were so joyful to have their little lady home, that it sort of radiated off them both. It was evident in how they looked at Alicia . . . and at each other. In how they held Alicia’s little hands. In how they tucked her up in her little blanket. It was near impossible not to catch some of “Joy vibes”, and so it effected me. I drove home a little slower that day, thinking about Alicia, and thinking how grateful I was to have the opportunity to take a few photos at this stage in her life.
Watching Jennifer & Joey handle Alicia with such tenderness & care, left me in no doubt about how much they adore Alicia. And . . . why shouldn’t they . . . She IS adorable!
